We were docked by half 6 when Paul got up to go to breakfast and he said there was a huge queue to get off. The boat got cleared by half 7 and we planned to leave our stateroom at 8am when the queues would have died down. We walked straight off as before and straight into the baggage hall. After a bit of time to find our cases and wait in line we clear immigration and made or way to the rental car area to wait for the shuttle to Hertz. It was a bit of a tight squeeze so Paul managed to get the front seat but it was only a couple of miles so not too bad. The driver was telling us about all the bush fires and now high risk it currently is.
At Hertz our car was ready (a Nissan Altima this time) and we were eventually on our way to Orlando by about 9am. A quick stop for a McDonalds breakfast first then up to Downtown Disney. First stop was to meet a random guy from Paul’s forum who had asked Paul to get him some maiden voyage caps. We delivered the goods then headed over to marketplace. I looked around the glass shop where I found another range of silver beads so bought a princess crown for my bracelet (I’m up to 7 now). We then went into the World of Disney store where we managed to pick up 2 new cushions like our “never grow up” and “once upon a time” ones. This time we got “believe in magic” and “be our guest”. Paul also got a new coffee mug with “Por favor mantengase alejado de mi cafe” on it. It’s a play on his favourite bit from the monorail. We then took a quick look in the pin station before making our way to Prime Outlets. It’s was a other glorious day and the shopping car parks we’re all heaving as the locals were out. We looked in Last Call Neiman Marcus and Juicy Couture but nothing caught my eye. Afterwards we headed up to the Yankee Candle store where we got some small jars in gingerbread, Danish cookie and apple pie.
We left Prime and made our way to Millennia. Today was our shopping day as we hadn’t had much time before we boarded the ship. There was nothing in the sale at Jimmy Choo so we wandered to Tiffany’s. It was really full and doing a roaring trade. We had to wait a while for an assistant to help us but eventually I bought a really cute Aladdin’s lamp charm. It’s a Palloma Picasso piece and fits really nicely with my Disney themed jewellery.
We left Millennia and next stop was Florida Mall. I needed to get some shampoo for mum, an iTunes voucher for Chris and some OPI top coat for myself. We parked out end back of Dillards being vey lucky to find a space again. There were no sales on anywhere that we could find so we went to Trade Secret for the nail stuff and shampoo. A brisk walk to Apple for the vouchers and then off to the food court to get some lunch. It was busy but we got a table and got our Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches quickly.
With only a few hours left we decided to spend them at Animal Kingdom Kidani Village. After a quick repack of the cases we sat out in the rocking chairs overlooking the Savannah. We had changed into our jeans etc for the flight home and finally set out for the airport at 5:30. We returned the car ok and dropped the bags. Paul managed to move our seats to the extra leg rooms ones in Premium downstairs. It meant we could enviously see the Upper Class cabin but at least we should be off first. The flight was short at 7.5 hours as we had the jet stream carrying us. The flight was ok but getting sleep was nay-on impossible so we arrived at 9:30 feeling tired and grumpy!
It’s now after 10 on Sunday night, we’ve watched the Grand Prix and I’ve finished this trips blog as promised. Hope you enjoyed and until next time…. See ya!
