Like I said its a bit odd. The second newsflash is that we booked another cruise on our way into dinner the other night. Now that sounds like we did it on a whim but it is something we had been considering for a while. It’s also something that gets full so no last minute deals would be possible so the 10% on board credit in the next best thing. It’s a transatlantic crossing on the Disney Magic for its Mediterranean repositioning. It sails from Galveston, we get a stop at Castaway Cay then 6 nights at sea followed by stops at Madeira and Gibraltar before docking at Barcelona. Hold on, gotta stop for a bit, Paul has just thrown a cup of tea and a cup of coke all over the the place….

Right, operation clean up complete so where was I? Oh yes, we booked our transatlantic. The sail date is 18th May 2013 and the boat is Disney Magic as I think I said. That’s the first Disney ship and smaller than the Dream and Fantasy.

The only other thing to note is a few more fish extender gifts we have received. We’ve had a cookbook, some craft type book that says Mickey and a bag of “stuff” to make something. I think the idea was so make a character and the bag had material, ribbon, glue etc. We elected not to get creative so if anyone wants to have a go when we get back…feel free.

So back to Thursday. We began by getting a couple of sun beds on deck. I blogged for a while and we lay in the sun (ok I may have been in the shade). At 1pm we made our way to O’Gills for 80’s tune trivia. We scored 32 again, exactly as before and yes they were completely different questions. This wasn’t enough to win but I did have a shining moment of glory by being the only person to get the band that released “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”. It was Tight Fit and not only was I the only one to get it correct I was only the second ever person to get it since the Cruise staff guy had been doing the quiz (no idea how long that is though!). After the quiz we went up to Cabanas for some lunch. We got a table outside at the back of the boat and watched our wake as we travelled along.

After lunch it was more trivia, Disney tune trivia. We know we’ll never win this as being a Disney cruise there are plenty of Disney freaks on board; yes way more that us!! We scored 27, again matching our previous score. Not sure why we’re so consistent but hey. It was now about 3:30 so we decided to spend some time on our own balcony to get some peaceful time. I blogged the remainder of St Martin and St Thomas and Paul posted them.

Dinner was to be a table for two tonight as Adam and Hayley were at Palo. We were back in Enchanted Garden and the menu was Captain’s Gala Dinner. This meant a fair amount of sea food including the lobster tail. Sadly Paul felt a little tender after the piri piri prawns at lunch so he opted for a simple romaine salad with ranch dressing. I had the aged prosciutto followed by the mushroom soup. There’s little point me even saying what Paul had for mains, yep, you guessed it, the sirloin. I had the venison which is expensive, or is it deer? (gedit?). For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake which our assistant waiter (Israel from Chile) highly recommended. It was good and a scoop of ice cream made it all the better. After the food we got a couple of pics taken in front of the fountain in the restaurant before heading off to the show. We were still a little early so mooched around the the shops to kill time where Paul bought some pins for his collection. The show was Believe, which we had seen on Dream in January. It was about a dad who doesn’t believe in magic and how, after rubbing his watering can, the Genie takes him on a journey where characters show him the real magic. There are lots of songs as well and it is a really good production.

We exited the show at about 9:30 and went to Ohh La La for a drink – it was empty in there We only had an hour as we planned to complete the 50 movie quotes trivia in O’Gills at 10:30. We were tired and it seemed to take forever to get though all 50, especially as there were loads we didn’t know. I think we scored 52 out of 100 in the end (marks were for film plus actor) which was pretty shabby. We wandered along the promenade deck back to midship and headed for bed.

Another sea day starts with another breakfast on the balcony but before I go on there are a couple of things Paul wanted me to mention that I have missed out. First is that we watched the move Derby O’Gill and the Little People which is what O’Gills pub is named after. It is an …

Continue reading “Eastern Caribbean Cruise May 2012 – Day 7”

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[38,3,50

post-365","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-2012-holidays","category-holidays","category-may-2012
["GET
